Deep Bite
If your upper front teeth significantly cover your lower front teeth when your mouth is closed, you may have a deep bite. This condition is different from an overbite, despite the similar appearance.

Causes of Deep Bite
Deep bites are typically caused by an imbalance between the lower and upper jaw, with the lower jaw being significantly shorter. Additional factors contributing to deep bites may include the absence of back teeth due to decay or injury. People who grind or clench their teeth, or those who sucked their thumb, can further worsen a deep bite.
Side Effects of Deep Bite
People with deep bites commonly experience issues such as shifting of their lower teeth due to misalignment. Additionally, they may encounter various jaw disorders including TMD, tooth loss, gum recession, periodontal disease, and ulcers and sores in the mouth.
